July 18-19 Toronto’s Ratha Yatra and Festival of India

Bringing a Splash of Spiritual Culture to Toronto!

Parade Information:
Parade is only on the Saturday and begins at 11am at Yonge and Asquith, north of Yonge and Bloor and make its way down to the lake. During the parade, three ornate, 40-foot tall floats will be hand-pulled by participants amidst ecstatic singing, drumming, and dancing creating a wondrous, carnival-like atmosphere.
Centre Island
Saturday, July 18th from 12pm – 9pm
Sunday, July 19th from 12pm – 5pm
After the parade on Yonge, Festival of India celebrations continue for the remainder of the weekend at Centre Island. Festival attendees will be treated to a sumptuous and FREE vegetarian feast along with a host of other family-friendly activities, including:
a massive, outdoor tented pavilion
acclaimed music, dance, & drama performances
a bustling South Asian Bazaar
intriguing exhibits on ancient spiritual culture and heritage
traditional face-painting
an outdoor yoga festival – Yoga Meltdown on Sunday
a fun-filled and educational children’s area including yoga for children
The festival is open to and free for the all. With its diverse assortment of celebrations and activities, the 43rd Annual Festival of India at Centre Island is sure to offer something for everyone!

The countdown has begun! Registrations have officially opened for Yoga Meltdown 2015 which is back this summer, presenting a vibrant, spiritual outdoor yoga festival to Toronto on Sunday, July 19th, 2015! Yoga Meltdown is presented as part of the 43rd Annual Festival of India, hosted by Toronto’s famous Hare Krishna Centre, along with our valued Yoga Meltdown Partners.
The picturesque beauty of Centre Island with its lush parks and cool breezes from the lake will form the backdrop for a feast for the senses. Our very goal is to provide an opportunity for yoga enthusiasts to come out and deepen their understanding of yoga and its physical, mental and spiritual benefits!

Mantra Meditation
Mantra meditation is a spiritual practice found in practically all religious and spiritual traditions, although methods may differ. Mantra meditation is a tool to focus the mind, which can help one to develop calmness and clarity in life. Stretching beyond just physical asanas, Mantra Meditation at Yoga Meltdown will allow all guests to see, feel, and hear yoga in a new, spiritual light.

We are proud to announce that Toronto Hare Krishna Temple will once again be welcoming back sensational kirtaneer Madhava Prabhu to headline the 12-Hour Kirtan! Joining him will be Agnideva das, Amala Kirtan das, members of the Mayapuris, as well as many other kirtaneers from all around the world!
There is no other better way to prepare for the 43rd Annual Festival of India (Ratha-Yatra) than singing and dancing the famous Hare Krsna mantra for 12 straight hours along with other devotees.
